Research Track 3 currently has 26 projects outlined in our roadmap. Some examples include:
Establish baseline energy, protein, amino acid, vitamin, and mineral requirements specific to Ridley Bronze turkeys across all life stages, accounting for their slower growth rate, extended lifespan, and non-industrial production systems.
Quantify nutrient intake derived from pasture, forage, insects, and soil under rotational grazing systems.
Establish realistic feed conversion ratios for Canadian Bronze turkeys raised in pasture-based systems.
To quantify the palatability and voluntary intake of common feed ingredients used in Canadian Bronze turkey diets, in order to identify discrepancies between formulated nutrient value and actual consumption, and to improve feeding efficiency, cost control, and nutritional adequacy under conservation-scale production systems.
Requirement estimates, validated ration templates, and decision rules for seasonal and life-stage feeding. How it’s used: enables economical diets without assuming commercial-hybrid nutrient responses.
